Introduction

Welcome to Aboutfam. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Aboutfam platform, including its applications, services, website, family relationship systems, messaging features, and media-sharing functionality.

By accessing or using Aboutfam, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the platform.

Using Aboutfam

Aboutfam is a social and family-oriented platform that enables users to connect, communicate, build family relationship structures, and share content including photos, videos, audio, and messages. Users are responsible for ensuring that the information and content they provide are accurate, lawful, and do not violate the rights of others.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Aboutfam reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risks to the platform, users, or third parties.

User content and license

Users may upload and share media content, including images, videos, audio recordings, profile information, family relationship data, captions, comments, and messages. By submitting content to Aboutfam, you confirm that you own the content or have the necessary rights and permissions to share it. You also grant Aboutfam a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, display, distribute, and operate such content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the service.

Prohibited content

Users agree not to upload, post, transmit, or share content that is illegal, abusive, harmful, defamatory, threatening, sexually explicit, hateful, misleading, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate. Aboutfam reserves the right to remove content or restrict accounts at its discretion if content violates these Terms, applicable laws, or platform policies.

Family relationship systems

Family relationship systems such as FamTree and GenTree are intended to help users organize and visualize family connections. Users acknowledge that relationship information is user-generated and that Aboutfam is not responsible for disputes, inaccuracies, misunderstandings, or conflicts arising from family-related content or relationship structures created by users.

Messaging

Aboutfam provides messaging and communication features for convenience and social interaction. Users acknowledge and agree that messages on the platform are currently not end-to-end encrypted. While Aboutfam applies reasonable security protections, users should avoid sharing highly sensitive or confidential information through platform messaging systems.

Service changes and availability

Aboutfam may update, modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any feature, functionality, or part of the service at any time without prior notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free performance, or permanent access to any content or feature.

Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights related to Aboutfam, including platform design, technology, systems, branding, software, FamTree, GenTree, logos, interface designs, and related innovations, are owned by Aboutfam or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse engineer, modify, or exploit any part of the platform without written permission.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aboutfam shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of the platform, including loss of data, content, relationships, communications, business opportunities, or personal disputes between users.

Termination

Users may stop using Aboutfam at any time by deleting their accounts. Aboutfam reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to users who violate these Terms or misuse the platform.

The account deletion process is available in the mobile app under Profile, Settings, Manage Account, select account, Delete account, and confirm Delete. The website's Delete account page explains what account data is deleted and what may be retained for legal, safety, backup, audit, or operational reasons.

Terms updates

These Terms and Conditions may be updated periodically. Continued use of Aboutfam after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
